Shoreline Kids Concert

The Kids concert was another great success today! I love how it's seeming to be the same people who show up every month. It's really taking on the feel of a community gathering. Next month, I'll be the performer! Let me know if there's any requests from class!

Why I love "Music Together"

I love music for its ability free us up to experience a range of emotions and for its ability to bring out happiness and joy. I love little children for their ability to open our hearts and make us feel so much love and delight. Each week, I have a chance to meet with 40 parent/child pairs who might not otherwise be making music. We sing, dance, delight in the children, and move to the music. We play drums and sticks and egg shakers and dance with scarves. And we smile, smile, smile. (Though, there is sometimes a grown up getting choked up with emotion and admittedly, it is often me)
The kids are getting a chance to soak up a musical environment and witness their parents as music makers. The adults are getting a chance to make music, which I believe is a human right. Every human should at least have the chance to sing and dance in a group. It, like language, is one of the beautiful things about being human. I am ever blessed to have such a wonderful opportunity each week! Thank you, Music Together families!
